Alerts & Push Notifications

How the alert inbox and browser push notifications work, and how to turn them on.

Omniplex keeps you updated through two connected features: an in-app alert inbox, and optional browser push notifications for the same events.

Alert inbox

Signed-in users have a bell icon in the header. It shows an unread count and opens a dropdown with your recent alerts things like a new push subscription being confirmed, or a reminder you set coming due. Click an alert to mark it read, or use Mark all read to clear everything at once.

Browser push notifications

Push notifications are opt-in and off by default. To turn them on:

  1. Open the bell dropdown in the header.
  2. Use the Enable/Disable toggle at the bottom.
  3. Your browser will ask for notification permission accept it.

Once enabled, you'll get a real OS-level notification (even when Omniplex isn't open in a tab) for the same events that show up in your alert inbox. Clicking a notification takes you straight to the relevant page.

If your browser doesn't support the Push API, the toggle will say so instead of doing nothing silently.

Turning it off

Use the same toggle in the bell dropdown to disable push notifications at any time. You can also revoke notification permission directly through your browser's site settings, which has the same effect.

Managing multiple devices/browsers

Each browser you enable push on is its own subscription enabling it on your phone doesn't affect your desktop, and vice versa. Disabling on one device only removes that device's subscription.
