Official Discord Server Rules

General rules that all members of our Official Discord Server(s) are expected to follow at all times, with no exceptions.

Note: The rules below apply to our own Official Omniplex Discord Server(s) — the community you join to chat with staff and other developers. If you're looking for the rules that servers listed on Omniplex must follow, see Servers → Listing Rules instead.

  1. Be friendly and respectful. This is meant to be a welcoming and supportive community for all Discord users and bot developers. Please treat others how you want to be treated regardless of whatever issues you may or may not have with them — do not bring your drama here.
  2. Follow the guidelines. All members should respect and follow the Omniplex legal documentation including our privacy policy, terms of service, community guidelines, server rules, and server policies at all times. We offer no exceptions to this rule.
  3. No harassment or hate speech. As stated above, we are an open and welcoming community for all Discord users and developers alike. Disrespecting or targeting somebody based on their race, religion, or programming language of choice will not be tolerated.
  4. No self promotion. We do not allow any kind of advertising here from anyone who is not a partner or affiliate. This includes sharing YouTube videos and livestream links — you are however welcome to share any media in our media channels so long as it meets this requirement and serves some kind of purpose to the channel (art/design, memes, etc).
  5. Absolutely no spam. This includes spamming user pings/mentions, emojis, characters, and chained messages. This kind of behavior is disruptive to the server and its members and is not appreciated by anyone. You will be banned with no exceptions and no questions asked.
  6. Be courteous to beginners. Do not shame or make fun of any other user for simply asking questions or trying to learn something new when developing their bot. We are a welcoming and supportive community, and as developers should be here to help each other learn and achieve our goals.
  7. Do not spoon feed developers. With respect to Rule #6, please keep in mind that regardless of a developer's experience level you should never spoon feed them code. Approach problems that users are having with an open mind and the objective of helping them learn how the process works.
  8. Primary/preferred language. Conversations within our Discord Server(s) should be carried out in competent English to give everyone a fair chance to understand and engage. We are a bilingual server, however we would prefer any non-English conversations to be carried out in our "off topic" channels.
  9. Do not evade punishments. Using alternate accounts or abusing Discord's services to bypass any bans or moderator actions is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban from both our Discord Server and access to our website on all of your associated accounts.
  10. Absolutely no NSFW/NSFL content. This includes conversations, images, and/or videos pertaining to real-world violence, gore, nudity, sexual content, excessively loud content, etc. Anything that would generally be deemed not safe for work/life is not acceptable.
  11. Do not backseat moderate. If you are not a member of our staff team, moderator, or admin, then you have no reason to be telling our users how they should conduct themselves. Reminding them about rules is fine, but aside from that please open a ticket and report them so we can handle it appropriately.
  12. Content limitations. Any and all content that provides images, videos, or gifs of shock, disturbing, or seizure-inducing content is strictly prohibited. This includes gore, bodily fluids, or an excessive amount of flashing colors.
